Listings are organized by geographical location of the station's city of license or transmitter location.
In the USA, listings intend to mimic Arbitron's radio markets and DMA television markets definitions.
In the above example, stations are represented from two markets, Chicago and Malta.
Column 1: Broadcasting frequency
This column represents the broadcasting frequency of this station.
Some common notations outside the broadcasting frequency:
If the frequency is unknown, you will see "(FM)" or "(AM)" as the frequency.
Other broadcasting means such as Internet, Cable, Satelite, Hospital or Shortwave radio will state the broadcasting means.
Column 2: Broadcasting power
This column represents the broadcasting power in kW (kilowatts) or W (watts) of this station.
AM radio will note the night broadcasting power if different than the day broadcasting power.
If this information is not known (or listed in our database), or is
not applicable to the broadcaster, this information will not show up.
Column 3: My Radio Link -
This link allows you to add this broadcaster to your "My Radio" listings.
Any stations with a web site can be added to My Radio listings.
For more information, please visit the My Radio section of TvRadioWorld.
Column 4: Address Link -
This link allows you view address information about the station (USA stations only).
A new browser window will about up and take you to the listing on SmartPages.com.
For more information, please visit the SmartPages.com web site.
Column 5: FCC Link -
This link allows you view FCC technical information about the station (USA and Canada stations only).

TvRadioWorld web page that will then take you to the live broadcast.)
Not all stations broadcast over the Internet and because of broadcasting rights
(mainly live broadcasts of sporting events), not all content from a station may broadcast
over the Internet.
For more information, please visit the How To Listen Live section of TvRadioWorld.
Column 7: Station Information
This column contains information on the broadcaster as follows (from left to right):
= a new listing on TvRadioWorld. [USA, Canada and Mexico only]
This occurs when a station is first listed on TvRadioWorld because their web site
has recently been launch, or when a significant change occurs with this broadcaster,
such as a new programming format or new call letters.
Next listed is the station name, call letters or station slogan.
Call letters are the primary identifier in the USA and Canada, but are used elsewhere.
Common notations:
"-DT" = a digital broadcasting station. [USA]
"-LP" or "-CA" = a low powered broadcating station. [USA]
"-cc" = operates as a closed circuit station.
"-sub" = operates as a sub-carrier station.
// = The station simulcasts or networks from elsewhere. Common notations:
"//WJYS-62" = a transmission that simulcasts from station WJYS channel 62.
"//[AM 500]" or "//[FM 103.8]" = a transmission that simulcasts from this originating frequency.
"//[R]" = a Repeater frequency of a transmittion.
"//[FM]" = an AM station simulcasts its broadcasts from FM in the same market.
"//[H]" and "//[M]" = a head or main frequency of a network of transmitters.
"//[LN]" = a station that is linked nationally/regionally, but contains blocks of local programming or locally run commercials [New Zealand]
"//[N]" = this transmitter is part of a nationwide network.
If the station has a network affiliation, this is noted next.
For digital television (DTV or -DT), it is possible to multicast programming simultaneously.
If a station does multicast, the streams are seperated by semicolons.
For example: "1)NBC; 2)WB; 3)weather" would indicate 3 singles simultaneously airing NBC, WB and weather info.
Digital television is not viewable without a digital TV set or adapter on your current television.
Next listed is the station's city of license, sometimes followed by the county or state or similar
politcal division, and followed by the country's two letter abbreviation.
When known, is the stations format, genre, language (if other than local language) and additional notes about the station such
as broadcasting hours.
Stations with multiple formats will have a "/" indicate the different formats, usually in
seperate programming blocks such as overnight or weekends. Stations that blend formats are indicated
with a "-". For example, a format of "ac-oldies" is a mix of adult contemporary music and oldies music.
For more information on station formats, please visit the Radio Formats
section of TvRadioWorld.
If the station broadcasts from a school (university or high school) this affiliation is listed last in the column.
